Historic attractions in Rhodes

The Colosseum of Rhodes is one of the 7 wonders of the world, and it is imposing at the entrance of the port and the ships pass under it. It was a statue of 31 m tall, which took 12 years to be built. Forty years after construction, it was destroyed by the earthquake and was not rebuilt.

The Old Town of Rhodes is the most medieval city in Europe. It is considered to be one of the most important cultural monuments inherited. It is a very picturesque town with narrow streets and buildings with a traditional architecture. You can admire medieval castles, gates, towers, markets, medieval churches, bridges. Tsambika Monastery is a small, Byzantine church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is situated on the top of a rocky hill offering impressive views. The aquarium is located in the New Town of Rhodes for over 80 years. Its goal is to study the flora and fauna of the Dodecanese islands. You can admire rare marine species, such as turtles and seals. Whether you are an ecologist or not, you will be pleasantly surprised by the unique show.

Seven Springs are located at a distance of 19 miles southeast of the capital. The location is splendid, with lots of pine trees and therefore the temperature is quite low. Here is a lake with 7 springs, where you can see ghosts, peaks and peacocks. Do not forget to visit this shady part of the island and dine in a tavern with a dream panorama.
