Attractions in Playa Blanca

Beaches in Playa Blanca

Spend your day on Playa de Papagayo beach. Certainly it is one of Lanzarote’s best beaches. Because it is famous for its white sands and crystal-clear emerald water. The sea here is also still enough for an Atlantic beach, thanks to its shelter from the prevailing winds. So it’s perfect for families with small children and those who just want to paddle about. The best time to come here is in the evening, when it’s quieter. But you’ll also have the chance to catch one of the island’s best sunsets.

Playa Dorada Beach with 300 metres of fine, honey-coloured sand, is a Blue Flag beach known as the Golden Beach. You’ve got a sheltered lagoon here with water as calm as a swimming pool. Among the palms you’ll find eateries and shops, and there are a few little rides for the kids, too.

Natural attractions in Playa Blanca

Timanfaya National Park is a unique volcanic landscape that formed as a result of its eruption in 1730 and covers a quarter of the island’s surface. For many tourists, this is the main reason for their visit to Lanzarote.

Take a day trip to El Golfo an impressive natural amphitheatre. It is overlooking the ocean and was created as a result of volcanic activities in the 18th century. This spectacular semi-circular crater is partially flooded, making it a lake, also known as the “green lagoon”. This natural complex has become an important reservation protected by the authorities. Nearby, there is a beach and a small village, which is famous for its restaurants and historical buildings. El Golfo is one of the most spectacular natural landmarks in Lanzarote and sits in the southern part of the island. Bathing in the lake is strictly forbidden.

Other attractions in Playa Blanca

Aqualava Water Park is Lanzarote’s newest water park. Try a range of fast twisting slides for big kids and adults and a great water play area for smaller children. More than that, it has heated pools so you don’t have to worry about being cold. For example, crazy rivers, lazy rivers, chill out zones, splash bucket, octopus wave pool and much more are waiting for you in this awesome water world!
