Sport activities in Davos

Skiing in Davos is one of Switzerland’s top winter sport destinations. Above all, the village has more than 320 kilometres of downhill ski slopes. Further to this, you must know that they are spread in six different ski areas, all with an efficient transport system. Parsenn which is the biggest and newest areas, has long winding trails for beginner and intermediate skiers. However, if you are an advanced skier, you can search for fresh powder off-piste.

Cross-country skiing in Davos Klosters features over 100 km of classic trails and 75 km of skating trails. But they all have one thing in common: they are superbly well prepared. Furthermore, you can find here special dog trails.

Ice skating, curling, ice hockey or winter walking are all popular winter activities. Firstly, at the base of Parsenn you can find an outdoor artificial ice rink, a large ice stadium and a smaller rink. Mountain biking is the perfect activity on the slopes of Davos. The slopes are laced with mountain biking trails in summer. Above all, if you want to ride only one trail, it has to be the infamous Gotschna Freeride. Being six kilometres long, this route zigzags down to the village of Klosters.

Family activities in Davos

Sightseeing train trips in Davos are known as the two of the most famous railway lines in the world: The Glacier Express and Bernina Express. The first is known as the “Slowest Fast Train in the World” and crosses the Swiss Alps from Graubünden to Valais. The Bernina Express is another line, making its way through the Bernina Range down to Tirano in Italy.

Madrisa Land is the highest adventure park in Switzerland and has something for each one in the family. You will be able to watch your children from seating on the edge of the park. The kids can take pony rides and make friends with baby Alpine goats in the farmyard.
